Championed by roots music enthusiasts and alt-country fans alike, Eilen Jewell is often mentioned in the same breath as fellow travellers Gillian Welch and Jolie Holland. Her latest album, the wonderfully titled Queen of the Minor Key, is Jewell’s strongest statement yet. It led one critic to declare her ‘sometimes as darkly damaged as Lucinda Williams, at others as defiant and teasing as prime Peggy Lee … she’s mighty good’.

Hey Marty..
how are you?I’m good.
I have been to two of Roger Waters’ shows ,thus far, and it’s good.Very good. The second night(wed 8th) he did a special encore of sorts and covered “Waltzing Matilda” with all of the supporting musicians there.Even tho’ I’m not Australian,it was quite special in it’s delivery.
He plays tonite again and on Satdee nite ,the closer, nice! think I might trot along on sat and get meself a punter’s ticket outside, maybe for half price, that would be nice.
cheers,Baz
