Nathan Haines has just released his eighth studio album, The Poet’s Embrace. It’s Haines’ first live-in-the-studio analogue jazz record. Joining Nathan on the record are pianist Kevin Field, drummer Alain Koetsier and bass player Thomas Botting. The 13th Floor sat down with Nathan Haines recently and asked him to talk about the circumtances surrounding the recording of The Poet’s Embrace and to give us a track-by track rundown of the new album.
