It’s not often you get the opportunity to see a 40+ year old band break in a new lead vocalist, but that’s just what happened Sunday night at Auckland’s Vector Arena. Jon Davison, until recently a singer for a Yes tribute band, made his debut performing with his heroes, on this, the first night of the veteran prog-rock band’s world tour.

I saw them at the Warner Theater in Washington D.C. I was not pleased. Other than an ‘All Good People’ medley to start the show they didn’t play any 70′s hits for the next 90 minutes. All were from recent albums. Who goes to Yes concerts to hear anything they wrote after 1987?!
