Gemma Hayes – Let It Break (Album Review)

It’s a long way from Tipperary to Blackbox Studies, France, but that’s where Irish songstress Gemma Hayes found herself recording her fourth album. Apparently growing up in Ballyporeen was a bit of a bore, and Gemma learnt piano and composed music to keep herself amused. Hayes’ work still has the dreamy and steamy feel of a girl fervently playing piano in a damp Irish parlour.
