The Tattletale Saints are Cy Winstanley and Vanessa McGowan. You may remember the Auckland-based duo as Her Make Believe Band. With the name change came a trip to Nashville to record their album How Red Is The Blood which is released on March 29th. Cy and Vanessa stopped by The 13th Floor to give a little sneak preview to the album. Listen here as they introduce several key tracks from How Red Is The Blood:

Watch Girls With Guitars
The Girls With Guitars tour came to Auckland’s Kings Arms on Tuesday night. Unfortunately Joanne Shaw Taylor was not there as she had to fly home due to a family emergency But, as guitarist Samantha Fish noted, “two out of three ain’t bad”. Here’s a clip of Samantha and Danielle Schnebelen performing Further On Up The Road. There are still three dates remaining on the tour. You can still catch them in Hamilton, Napier and Wellington.

Bouncing Souls Roll Into New Zealand

German Invasion on Queen Street
If you happened to be strolling along Queen Street this afternoon you may have come across the German duo Dos Hermonos banging out a few tunes in the Auckland sun. The band, who are currently touring with Delaney Davidson, caught the attention of passersby with their enthusiastic performance in front of Real Groovy Records. Watch here as they rip into a version of Walking In The Rain, a tune originally recorded by Australia’s Flash And The Pan:

In addition to drumming for Australian rockers The Drones, Mike Noga has his own solo thing going on. Mike is in Auckland to open for Band Of Horses tonight at The Powerstation. He will also be performing a solo show tomorrow at The Wine Cellar. Mike Noga stopped by The 13th Floor this afternoon to play a couple of songs from his most recent album, The Balladeer Hunter.
