Anika Moa, Boh Runga and Hollie Smith are making music together. Their first video has just been released. Here is the promo blurb that comes with it:
Put three music icons – strong women with voices and personalities to match – in a studio and see what happens. Let’s just call them Anika, Boh & Hollie because you all know who they are. What does it sound like? Well it’s exactly what you’d hope and then some – beautifully crafted melodies, big, soaring vocals, glorious harmonies – and, according to Anika, “it is magic and unique and it’s something we’re all just really proud to put our names to”. Boh takes the lead vocal on first single “Be Mine” but all three voices feature strongly, the harmonies are seamless and natural. This video comes as their first but will not be their last. There will be further singles in 2012 to be followed by a debut album in early 2013.
