13th Floor New Song Of The Day: Harry Parsons – Good Time

Our boy Harry Parsons has a new tune and we’re happy to share it with you.

The song is Good Time a tune that “shine a light on mental health issues”. Here’s the record company blurb with more…

Good Time’ is an honest and deeply moving song, which sees the young artist at his most vulnerable. Harry wrote the song on the ‘come down’ from a big night out partying with friends. “Anxiety has always been something I’ve struggled with and this panic attack was one of my loneliest and worst.”

‘Good Time’ takes place on a day that Harry would sooner like to forget, after getting home from a party he suddenly found himself in a panic attack that ended up being the inspiration for this song.

Co- written with and produced by Ben MaloneHarry says the song came together in one session. “It’s a snapshot of what 10 minutes of an anxiety attack felt like for me; how powerless you feel and how out of control everything in your life seems whilst you sink further and further into your own head.”

The raw and emotionally-charged song showcases Harry’s songwriting prowess and firmly establishes him as one of the most exciting singer-songwriter’s on the New Zealand scene.  Harry hopes the meaning behind the song resonates with others who may be experiencing similar things. “I hope they hear the song and know that they’re not alone – that these attacks, these mental struggles happen to me and many others.”

Harry has steadily made a name for himself since he came first in the national finals of the 2013 Smokefree Rockquest. Eventually, Harry made his way from small-town New Zealand to the big smoke of Auckland city. Over the years Harry has seen commercial success, amassing hundreds and thousands of streams across Spotify and Youtube, charting singles such as ‘Complicate’ which debuted at #3 on the Hot NZ singles charts and ‘Scars’ debuted at #13 on Hot NZ singles.
