13th Floor New Song Of The Day: Late Model European – Moments

Today we have a new song and video clip from Late Model European.

The new song is Moments, and if you watch the video clip you’ll see the duo of Tones Thorburn and John Nelson working at Auckland’s Roundhead Studios, recording the tune.

Here’s the record company blurb:

Longtime friends and music collaborators, Tones Thorburn and John Nelson, AKA Late Model European, are pleased to share ‘Moments’, the second offering from their forthcoming debut album.

‘Moments’ is a hopeful and uplifting, piano-driven love story with a dramatic orchestral twist.

Tones is an unashamed romantic, and wrote ‘Moments‘ for his partner and muse, Sara;

“It’s about those magical moments we share in love – in romantic relationships, or with family and friends – when you’re immersed in those treasured moments that feel like they will last forever”.

‘Moments’ was recorded at Roundhead Studios with producer Ben King (Goldenhorse) at the helm, and mastered by Don Bartley (Benchmark Mastering – Sydney). The single features top kiwi musicians, Tom Broome on drums, Ben King on bass and synths, Jacob O’Callahan on grand piano, Claire Cowan on cello and Adam Whybro on string machine (synth).

Drawing on influences from iconic artists such as The Beatles, The Stones, Bowie, Fleetwood Mac, Pink Floyd, Neil Young, Tom Petty, Dire Straits, Elvis Costello through to Crowded House, Goldenhorse, and Elbow to name a few – it’s no surprise that Late Model European’s new single ‘Moments’ has all the hallmarks of an epic ballad with a wide-ranging appeal.
