13th Floor New Song Of The Day: There’s A Tuesday – Amsterdam

This just in! A new song from one our favourite new bands…Amsterdam by There’s A Tuesday.

The Christchurch quartet releases their debut single today ahead of an EP due out soon. Here’s the blurb with more:

There’s A Tuesday have released ‘Amsterdam’, the lead single from their highly anticipated debut EP, ‘Dance With Me Before We Cry’, which comes out in November on MEOW.

With single ‘Amsterdam’, There’s A Tuesday provide the coming-of-age summer escape that we all need right now. “The song is about people in your life that you can’t help but love,” says singer Nat Hutton, “…it’s okay to ask them to leave and come around another time soon.” It was mixed and recorded by Will McGillivray, and mastered by Olly Harmer (Naked and Famous, Broods).

A dreamy indie folk/ rock/ pop group from Christchurch, New Zealand, the band consists of two female front women both on guitars and vocals, Nat Hutton and Minnie Robberds, with Angus Murray and Joel Becker on bass and drums, respectively.

Possessing wonderful harmonies and gorgeous songs, There’s A Tuesday won 2019’s Smokefree Rockquest, which provided the platform to record debut single ‘pinata head’ at Neil Finn’s Round Head Studios – the single rocketed to #13 on the New Zealand singles chart, earning rave reviews and frequent radio play nationwide. They’ve gone on to become the darlings of NZ’s festival circuit, landing upcoming spots at Rhythm and Alps, Rhythm and Vines, Le Currents, Electric Ave and more, as well as recent tours with The Butlers and Mako Road, and their very own headline tour this December.

‘a bright new pair of voices out of New Zealand’ – Happy Mag

‘wonderful harmonies, catchy songs… I’m sure they’ll be back at the Tuning Fork, headlining next time.’ – 13th Floor
