13th Floor New Song Of The Day: Soft Plastics – My World/Your Girl
This just in! A new song by Wellington’s Soft Plastics.
The song, My World/Your Girl is sung by Sophie Scott-Maunder while guitarist Jonathan Shirley gets us in a Twin Peaks kinda mood.
Here’s what they sent us about them:
Hi 13th Floor
On Monday the 29th of June, Soft Plastics, are unveiling their latest offering entitled My World/Your Girl. Dreamt up during the COVID-19 global pandemic, My World/Your Girl is a melancholic song about introspection during social isolation. Inspiration was derived from 60’s girl band ballads and David Lynch’s Twin Peaks – you can almost imagine it being performed at the Roadhouse Tavern (Bang Bang Bar).
The song was performed live at Pyramid Club by Sophie Scott-Maunder (vocals, bass) and Jonathan Shirley (guitar). It was recorded, mixed and mastered by Lochie Noble. The single cover photo was taken by Sevrin Noakes in our Twin Peaks-esque bathroom.
