Watch: 13th Floor MusicTalk With Melbourne Dream Pop Band Hachiku
Vast and intimate all at once, Hachiku’s debut album I’ll Probably Be Asleep is a captivating combo of textural, cinematic production and dreamy vocals.
The Melbourne-based outfit are known for their self-produced dream-pop jams, first making their mark since being signed to Milk! Records. The independent label is founded by Aussie indie darling Courtney Barnett and Jen Cloher. New Zealand’s Tiny Ruins is represented by Milk!.
A day before the release of I’ll Probably Be Asleep, The 13th Floor’s Sarah Downs talks to bandleader Anika Ostendorf over zoom – starting with a quick tour of her ‘music room’ and where a large chunk of the new album was recorded and produced. DIY music at its best.
