New Song Of The Day: Jane Weaver – Heartlow

Our friends at Fire Records have sent us this new track from Jane Weaver and we pass it on to you.

The song is Heartlow and it is taken from Weaver’s new album, Flock, due out March 5th. Here’s the record company blurb with details:

Jane Weaver continues to galvanize with the opening salvo from her new album ‘Flock’, the euphoric ‘Heartlow’ is a generous slice of chiming positivity, an air-punching, swivel-hipped pop groove with new music video from filmmaker and musician Douglas Hart (The Jesus and Mary Chain).

Produced on a complicated diet of bygone Lebanese torch songs, 1980’s Russian Aerobics records and Australian Punk.

The musician’s exposure to an abundance of lost records served as a reminder that you still feel like an outsider in this world and that by overcoming fears you can achieve artistic freedom.

“Heartlow is my attempt at an uplifting tragi-pop parade for the trials of modern times disguised as a homage to a lost generation of misfit girl groop records. Written in hibernation in an out of season French coastal town surrounded by ancient stone circles and arthurian forests.” Jane Weaver

‘Flock’ is the album Jane always wanted to make, the most genuine version of Jane Weaver, complete with unpretentious Day-Glo pop sensibilities, wit, kindness, humour, glamour…

Still prevalent are the cosmic sounds but ‘Flock’ is a natural rebellion to the recent releases which sees her decidedly move away from conceptual roots in favour of writing pop music.

Jane Weaver’s new album ‘Flock’ is released on 5th March 2021 on Fire Records with a UK tour this summer.
