13th Floor New Song Of The Day: The Butlers – Time
A new song and a show at The Powerstation last night…it’s The Butlers with a new tune, Time.
That’s right The Butlers performed at The Powerstation along with Molly & The Chromatics, There’s A Tuesday and Michael Keane. We’ll bring you photos and a review soon. For now, here’s the record company blurb to tell you more about Time:
Kiwi indie haze band The Butlers are set to release their adventurous and much anticipated new EP ‘Kaikoura Conceptions’ this month. Featuring recent hits ‘I Ain’t Running’ and ‘One Flew’, the EP will also include their latest single ‘Time, which is set to charm music fans far and wide with the cruisy new video.
Riding high on a recent run of summer festival appearances and sold-out headline shows, The Butlers are set to capitalise on their success when ‘Kaikoura Conceptions’ comes out on May 28 via MEOW.
Produced by Will McGillvray, the ‘Kaikoura Conceptions’ EP was recorded in sessions at The Sitting Room in Lyttleton and the producer’s studio, and was engineered by Ryan Fisherman. The new single ‘Time’ was written by George Berry and Walt Robberds of The Butlers, with the accompanying video being directed by Hannah Braddick, and shot and edited by Jusy Davis.
The Butlers continue to ride a wave of success since forming a few years back, and have now established themselves as a well-recognised, critically acclaimed and crucial band to the Kiwi music scene with a loyal and fanatical fanbase.
Their debut self-titled album cracked the top-20 in the NZ charts in 2019, which followed on from two acclaimed EP’s, Fredrieks Friends and Halfway House (both released in 2017), and they’ve since clocked well over three million streams on Spotify. In turn, they’ve absolutely cracked the touring and festival circuit. Their New Zealand national tours keep selling out. They’ve toured Australia twice, scored national tour supports with The Teskey Brothers and Sticky Fingers. And they have delivered unforgettable performances at prestigious festivals including Rhythm & Vines, Electric Avenue, Rhythm & Alps and Bay Dreams.
