Dunedin singer-songwriter Abby Wolfe has revealed the video for her latest single ‘Lose Myself’, released recently as the final track from her debut EP.
‘Lose Myself’ is a personal song, wrought with emotion, which was written in the midst of a break-up. Now follows the video, which was made with the support of NZ on Air, by Dunedin based director, Jay Lee.
Fittingly it’s a simple, yet powerful video, which beautifully captures the essence of the song.
“I wanted the video to be simple – just so it didn’t take away from the song and the emotion. The general sentiment is how time seems to disappear when you’re feeling grief or going through a breakup, like time essentially stops and you’re stuck in a bit of a void, waiting for that next stage of healing,” says Abby.
Abby wrote ‘Lose Myself’ at an APRA Songhubs with songwriting and producing heavyweights Djeisan Suskov and Nik Brinkman, alongside fellow singer-songwriter Ciaran McMeeken. It was later produced by Ambian & Sleo (Josh Edmonds & Joe Corban-Banks).
