Georgia Lines releases a new song and a new video. It’s Nothing But Love.

Georgia LinesAotearoa artist Georgia Lines has just been announced as the 2022 AMA New Zealand Breakthrough Artist of the Year! Along with winning the coveted music award, today Georgia releases her new single ‘Nothing But Love’ – from the recently released chart-topping EP HUMAN.

An infectious bassline sets the foundation for stacked vocals and soaring melodies. Upbeat, fun and packed with hooks, the track also carries a deep sense of personal reflection about navigating relationships while being away on the road.

“‘Nothing But Love’ is about having to communicate and love through the distance,” explains Georgia. “Through time zones, travel, work, busyness, and then also navigating coming back into a routine together after you have been a part.”

Written and recorded with Xavier Dunn in Sydney, the track was mastered at KOG Studios and added to the HUMAN EP after Georgia felt a strong need to include it on the current project.

“‘Xavier and I met the same day that we wrote ‘Nothing But Love’, which was the last day of my writing trip before heading back to New Zealand,” says Georgia. “I went over to write for the next project, but when I got home, I couldn’t stop listening to the demo and felt this deep pull to finish the track before the EP mastering deadline two days later. We managed to finish writing the track over zoom on Friday night; I recorded the second verse vocals back here in Tauranga on Saturday, we worked on the mix on Sunday and sent the EP off for mastering on Monday.”

Also out today is the accompanying video, directed and produced by Georgia Lines and Mikee Carpinter, and edited by Alexander Gander.

“We wanted to have fun with this video using various projections, knowing we would play around with the final look when editing it,” says Georgia. “I love that the conversational feel of the song is reflected in the video; having the pressure non-existent as to what the video had to be when trialling different ideas with the reflections, gave us the permission to explore ideas and projections.”

Georgia Lines is quickly becoming a household name in Aotearoa’s music industry. GEORGIA LINES EP has amassed 4.5 million Spotify streams, has featured in Rolling Stone magazine and on MTV. Georgia’s single ‘No One Knows’ won Georgia the Best Music Video award at 2021’s AMA’s (Aotearoa Music Awards). Her recently released EP HUMAN hit number 1 on the Official Top 20 NZ Album charts, with lead single ‘Faith’ reaching number 1 on the Most Added Radioscope charts in Aotearoa. Most recently, Georgia was nominated for the 2022 AMA’s in the Breakthrough Artist of the Year and Best Pop Artist categories, taking out Breakthrough Artist.
