Jesse Colin Young Has Died At Age 83: R.I.P.
Jesse Colin Young of The Youngbloods and later a solo artist, has died at home in Aiken, South Carolina yesterday afternoon. No cause of death was given.
Young was the voice of one of the signature songs of the late 1960s, Get Together, which went to number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1969.
Young eventually set out on his own and scored another hit with Sunlight in 1976. Although Young did not write Get Together, he did write Darkness Darkness (covered by Mott The Hoople & Robert Plant), Sunlight (covered by Three Dog Night) and Songbird, a 1975 single.
