Here is the blurb with more:

Featuring seasoned players from PlutoBleedersShitripperFever Lake & Crap DateErase Everything explore the edges of modern rock by underpinning atmosphere with hardcore sensibilities.

Following the release of Glass SoulsErase Everything return with New Year New Idea, the second single from their eponymous debut EP that lands before the end of the year. To celebrate they’re playing at Last Place (with New Way HomeThe Vile Maxim and Boilermaker) and 605 Morningside (with Exit Sign, Moppy & Distracted) – tickets are available from Undertheradar.

New Year New Idea slows the tempo and sees Erase Everything play with quieter tones, utilising delayed arpeggios and hushed vocals. The track was recorded by Milon Williams (Cobra Kahn) and polished by Primal Mastering.

“New Year New Idea is about what’s happening to Mother Earth,” explains Angelo Munro“The destruction humans are causing to the planet and the selfish nature we have to live in our own bubbles and not having to think about the impact our decisions make on others.”

“All my songs mean something to me but I don’t plan ahead and decide ‘I’m gonna write a song about this subject’. I just have values and things to say and they come out organically and unplanned. ‘We only have ourselves to blame’ came as a hook as the song sounded sad to me and it’s hard to not be sad when you look around… It’s just saying ‘don’t blame your neighbour, blame yourself.’ We’re all consumers, none of us are perfect.”

“Grant sent the idea of the song through with a placeholder title ‘new year new idea’ given he had written it in January. After a while I realised that the placeholder name actually spoke to the lyric content, kinda like a New Year’s resolution, or like ‘ok it’s time to change tack.’ It’s funny how those things work out.”

To celebrate the release Erase Everything will perform live at Last Place on August 29 with New Way Home, The Vile Maxim and Boilermaker and at 605 Morningside on August 30 with Exit Sign, Moppy & Distracted. Tickets for both shows are available from Undertheradar.
