R.I.P. J Geils
Guitarist J Geils, of Boston’s J Geils Band, has died at the age of 71. The hard-rocking blues and r&b band was one of the most consistently entertaining live acts of the 1970s.
The 1980s saw the band reach even higher commercial success with hits like Centerfold and Freeze-Frame. But those who saw them perform tunes like First I Look At The Purse, Whammer Jammer, and Looking For A Love early in their career caught them at their prime.
The band, led by vocalist Peter Wolf, is still going although J Geils himself left in 2012.
