13th Floor New Song Of The Day: Latinaotearoa feat. Team Dynamite – Jazzy Samba
Bossa nova meets hip-hop as Jennifer Zea collaborates with the folks at Team Dynamite to produce a Jazzy Samba.
Latinaotearoa releases the new single today. Here’s the record company blurb:
Released on Mucho Aroha Music, ‘Jazzy Samba’ is a summer song bringing the Bossa Nova feel to a sort of West Coast Hip Hop style tune.
Latinaotearoa’s new single is anchored by a rolling groove and Jennifer Zea’s soothing vocals. Produced and co-produced by Brazilian beat-maker Kka.Ddu, Bobby Brazuka and Haz Beats (Team Dynamite) the song feels like sunshine and sea breeze. Well delivered through the vocals of Tony Teez and Lucky Lance in a superb fluidity.
In seamless mix of Spanish harmonies with the South Pacific narrative ‘Jazzy Samba’ is sure to get the attention of critics and fans alike.
The release of ‘Jazzy Samba’ follows on from ‘Leave It’, which was released in May 2018 and is the second single from the upcoming third album.
See Latinaotearoa live this summer at the South Island Food & Wine Festival alongside the Black Seeds, Britomart Block Party for NYE and Festival of Lights in New Plymouth.

About Latinaotearoa
Latinaotearoa came from the concept of blending local flavours with the colourful cultures of South America.
Brazilian born Auckland DJ Bobby Brazuka and Venezuelan singer Jennifer Zea created a unique live performance with Bobby’s Latin influenced soul-funk and hip hop selections layered with Jennifer’s ravishing vocals.
The local response was so positive the band decided to test international waters by taking their sound to Australia and Europe. It was soon apparent that this was not just a recipe for kiwi appetites – bustling crowds meant promoters were quick to discuss future tours.
This natural progression and a desire to develop musically led to what felt like an inevitable next step; new and original productions to season an already flavoursome set.
Six years, two albums and countless tours later, Latinaotearoa continues to go from strength to strength.
Debut album Latinaotearoa was nominated for Best Roots Album at the Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards in 2013, creating deserved exposure for the band. It provided momentum for their follow-up album, Latinaotearoa in Latinoamerica, which was recorded in 2014 in the colourful surrounds of Brazil, enabling the group to delve into their Latin roots for inspiration. Album that was also nominated for New Zealand Music Awards in 2015.
Regulars to the Splore and Womad Festivals, Latinaotearoa is a four piece band that have become a recognised name in New Zealand and are at the heart of the local Latin community. The bands international gigs are growing in size and popularity, with Australian and European tours now a regular part of their already busy calendar. From South America to Aotearoa and all across the globe, this fiery outfit delivers an energetic and exciting set for anyone lucky enough to see them perform. They’ve achieved so much in such a short time, but with dedication and passion towards their music and at the core of everything they do, the world is guaranteed to see so much more.
2018 will see the release of the bands third album. Featuring singles; ‘Leave It’ and ‘Jazzy Samba’ feat. Team Dynamite.
