I’m not sure if he rode like the wind, but 80s hitmaker Christopher Cross and his 6-piece band took over Auckland’s Town Hall to relive his glory days and to play a few new tunes along the way.
Last night’s performance from Kane Strang, Girlboss, The Beths and Eyes No Eyes at Whammy last night proved not only the enduring importance of guitars in modern music, it also brought together some of the best talent within local indie pop.
It was time to wave those horns and pump those fists as Stone Sour barrelled in Auckland’s Spark Arena, urged on by a sea of black T-shirt, metal-loving fans.
Katchafire and Kora brought their summertime vibes to Auckland’s Powerstation last night. Former Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett brought his “Genesis Revisited” show to Auckland last night. Incredibly, after over 40 years and countless albums, this was Hackett’s first foray into New Zealand.
21-year-old Memphis-based singer-songwriter Julien Baker performed at Auckland’s Tuning Fork last night ahead of the release of her highly-anticipated second album. Also on the bill was Fat Possum recording artist Adam Torres. The Miltones wrapped up their album release tour in front of a hometown crowd at Auckland’s Tuning Fork. And what a crowd it was…they showed up early and in large numbers making for a very special evening.
