Charlie Gabriel is the oldest member of The Preservation Hall Jazz Band and the newest artist on Sub Pop Records. The title of his debut album reflects his age: 89.

The 13th Floor’s Marty Duda spoke to Charlie along with bassist/tuba player Ben Jaffee just a day after the Grammy Awards where fellow New Orleans musician Jon Baptiste won the coveted Album Of The Year. So, what did Charlie think of all this?
