Echomatica – Something: 13th Floor New Song Of The Day

Tāmaki Makaurau indie dream-pop quartet Echomatica made serious waves with their debut single Love Isn’t Always‘, charting across Aotearoa alternative and rock radio, and picking up considerable international attention. Now comes the release of Echomatica’s second single Something, ahead of the debut self-titled album which is out on October 10th.Here is the blurb with more:

At its core, Something recalls the familiar search for personal connection – that elusive spark we chase in relationships, memory, and art. With a shimmering atmosphere and a pulse that’s both dreamy and urgent, the song reflects a brighter side of Echomatica’s signature fusion of ethereal beauty with emotional depth.

“’Something’ was one of those tunes that started simply, as fragments toyed with on an acoustic guitar. The song flowed easily from there, and came to reflect ideas of reaching for meaning when everything feels uncertain, and how even in silence and hesitation there’s often the joy and wonder of discovery and an electric potential in what’s left unspoken.” – Charlie Maclean, Vocalist

The track follows the success of their debut single ‘Love Isn’t Always’, which was released in August, and reached No. 1 on the 95bfm Top 10, Number 2 on the NZ Student Radio Network (SRN) Top 10, and No. 9 on the Radioscope Alt Airplay chart. ‘Love Isn’t Always’ also received international radio play across the US, UK, Australia and Europe.

The band’s debut self-titled album Echomatica is due for release on Friday October 10, on vinyl and digitally. Echomatica was recorded live to analogue tape at Earwig Studios, Auckland and will be released on Dead Signal Records.
