Goodspace – You Only Give What You Leave: 13th Floor Video Premiere!

You Only Give What You Leave is the lead and closing track of Goodspace‘s upcoming debut album Let’s Talk About Death (out October 5th).

GoodspaceCompletely self-produced, recorded and mixed in The Goodspace home studio, the tone is warm yet weighty, uplifting yet grounded.  Blending organic and electronic sounds with narrative-driven lyrics that examine death, ‘You Only Give What You Leave’ is the end of the story and the opener of the conversation. Featuring dancer Zoe White, the accompanying music video embodies a sense of carefree acceptance and hope against the backdrop of a half-demolished building.

“I had a very direct experience of that when my father passed away. I was in his house two days afterwards, cleaning and clearing out stuff. And one of my realisations was, “Whoa, when you die, you only give what you leave behind.”

Tāmaki Makaurau’s Goodspace once again shows a love for music that reaches between and beyond, offering a nuanced view with quiet conviction. After all, in the end, you only give what you leave behind.
