Harper Finn – Where Did She Go: 13th Floor New Song Of The Day
NYC-based, New Zealand-born artist Harper Finn has unveiled the second track from his upcoming debut album set for release later this year. The latest release ‘Where Did She Go’ follows on from the album’s lead single ‘Doves’ and reflects the quiet emotion of loneliness and introspection.

Since relocating to New York in 2022, the city’s energy and ever-evolving social scene have provided Harper with endless inspiration for his music.
“Living in New York has been life-changing,” he says. “The city moves at such a fast pace—everything is constantly changing, and you have to learn to let go.”
“Where Did She Go was written during my first winter in New York, in an apartment I suddenly found myself living in alone—it’s a reflection on the quiet feeling of being left in the dark when someone close to you slips out of reach and leaves you wondering.”
‘Where Did She Go’, as well as the rest of the record, was recorded on a 16-track tape machine in the idyllic setting of Woodstock. Working alongside acclaimed artist/producer Sam Evian (Big Thief, Cass McCombs, Shura), Harper has crafted a collection of songs reflecting the complexities of love, loss, and the relentless pursuit of dreams.
“This was the first song Sam and I recorded together” recalls Harper “The guitars have this warped, nostalgic tone, like hearing an old song playing through a transistor radio, almost like the sound of a faded memory”
This project marks a new chapter for Harper, transitioning from NEWCOMER which came after being named Breakthrough Artist of the Year in 2021. The EP spawned the Gold-certified single ‘Dance Away These Days’ which has since garnered close to 5 million streams.
Harper has been on the road since mid-2024 performing as the live pianist for Balu Brigada during their support slot on Twenty One Pilots’ South America tour (following shows in the US, AU, and NZ).
As he prepares to release his forthcoming debut album, it’s clear that Harper Finn is poised to become one of the most exciting new voices in music.
