“Mary is a living link between Billie Holiday and Amy Winehouse.” – Uncut Magazine

“Honey-voiced Irish National Treasure.” – MOJO Magazine

With a voice that’s whisky-blurred, smoke-seared, and utterly captivating, Mary Coughlan has carved a career spanning over 40 years, captivating audiences across the globe with her raw emotional power and fearless storytelling. Her sound blends the sultry blues of Bessie Smith, the torch-song heartbreak of Edith Piaf, and the mordant wit of Peggy Lee, all delivered in her unapologetically Irish tone.

Coughlan has released over a dozen critically acclaimed albums, including her landmark debut Tired and Emotional, which spent 26 weeks in the Irish charts. Her recordings have earned widespread international praise for their emotional depth, musical elegance, and unflinching honesty – cementing her status as one of Ireland’s most successful and enduring artists.

Coughlan’s music speaks directly to the soul – fierce, tender, and unflinchingly honest. Her performances promise an evening of deep blues, jazz torch songs, and searingly personal tales of love, loss, and resilience.

Don’t miss this rare chance to experience the intimate brilliance of Mary Coughlan live in New Zealand.
