Jeff Beck, Guitarist Extraordinaire, Has Died Age 78: R.I.P.
Jeff Beck, guitarist for The Yardbirds, The Jeff Beck Group and solo has died age 78 after “suddenly contracting bacterial meningitis”.
Jeff Beck was one of the triumvirate of guitar greats who played with The Yardbirds, the other two being Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page. Beck left The Yardbirds in 1966, eventually forming The Jeff Beck Group with Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood. Beck then on to carve out a successful solo career influencing a generation of guitarists along the way.
