Lorraine Barry Has Died: R.I.P.
We are shocked and saddened to learn of the death of Lorraine Barry, manager of Sir Dave Dobbyn and others and a passionate supporter of New Zealand music and musicians.
According to a published notice:
Lorraine Elizabeth Barry 14th June 2025
Passed peacefully at home in Auckland, New Zealand after a short illness.
Loving partner to Ross, daughter to Betty and sister to Denise. Lorraine will be sadly missed and remembered by brother in law Kenny, her nephews Robert, Philip, Andrew and David and the wider family circle. A Thanksgiving Service will be held in her home town of Whitehead at a later date.

Lorraine Barry was a towering presence in the NZ Music Community.
To everything she did, she brought fierce intelligence, determination, and an unshakable passion for music. I’ll miss her wit, her compassion and her impatience with any kind of small-talk. She always called a spade a spade – or whatever they call ‘spades’ in Northern Ireland. My thoughts go out to her family, to Dave, Anneliesje and all her management whānau, and to her wonderful partner, my dear friend and fellow Mutton Bird Ross Burge
