Macey – Seaside Wishes: 13th Floor New Song Of The Day
Following his recent 2025 single, Mona Lisa Money, acclaimed New Zealand singer-songwriter MACEY returns with his second new release of his forthcoming album, the evocative and heartfelt single Seaside Wishes.
Here is the blurb with more:
Written in the first few days of his move to London, Seaside Wishes was inspired by a fleeting moment on a late-night tube ride: an elderly man stands, despite a bad back, as the woman he’s travelling with steps off at her stop. That small, tender gesture sparked MACEY’s imagination, giving birth to a song that explores love that lasts a lifetime – the kind of connection that feels both old-fashioned and timeless.

The track unfolds like a cinematic daydream, weaving intimate vignettes of human connection across generations. From the quiet devotion of long-term love to the playful, stormy romance of youth, MACEY’s lyrics – “I’m here with you / I’ll dive in it if you do / Seaside Wishes / like we’ve got nothing left to lose” – invite listeners to step into a world where hope, intimacy, and vulnerability reign.
Reflecting on the song, MACEY shares:
“That small moment on the tube made me wonder about a love that lasts a lifetime. Seaside Wishes is a daydream of that kind of connection – maybe slightly old-fashioned, maybe unrealistic – but for four minutes, we get to imagine it’s real. Even if I’m not sure that sort of love truly exists anymore, the song lets us hope, pretend, and believe for a moment.”
Following the critical acclaim of his 2023 debut album THE LOVERS, MACEY has cemented himself as one of New Zealand’s most compelling lyricists. Known for his intimate storytelling, candid lyricism, and cinematic production style, he continues to create music that captures fleeting human moments and universal emotions.
‘Seaside Wishes’ is out now on all streaming platforms.
