The 13th Floor’s Marty Duda spoke to Makaya McCraven who was in Chicago riding out a winter cold snap. Fortunately his work putting together Deciphering The Message has resulted in some hot tracks as he collaborates with the past in the form of giants such as Art Blakey, Horace Silver and Dexter Gordon, mixing their work with his own along with contemporaries such as Joel Ross, Jeff Parker and Marquis Hill.
