NEW ZEALAND + AUSTRALIA SPECIAL GUESTS

HALFQUEEN (AUCKLAND)
Halfqueen
is a Fijian and Pākehā DJ from Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland whose sets are unapologetic and empowering, conjuring collective nostalgia, unbridled joy and ass shaking. Known for her energetic and unpredictable curation, HALFQUEEN has etched herself into the nightlife fabric of not only Aotearoa/New Zealand, but underground communities worldwide, supporting a range of artists such as YG, Brooke Candy, Channel Tres, Junglepussy, Earthgang, Jaël, Sister Nancy and Cakes Da Killa.

WIIGZ (BRISBANE)
Hailing from Brisbane’s North side, WIIGZ is a genre-bending pop duo made up of front-women Hannah Brydon and Zoë Hilditch. After releasing their debut single ‘wwwwwhy’, the pair shifted their focus to their live show, bumping in disco floors and LED lighting to perform in front of sell-out crowds. Their follow up track ‘Red Hot Pants’ was picked up by triple j Unearthed to much acclaim and the pair are now working on their debut EP.

MICRA (SYDNEY)
MICRA
are the sonic experiment from Bulgarian born and raised singer/guitarist Ivana Kafedjiyska and Australian guitarist/producer Robbie Cain who met by serendipitous fortune at an Unknown Mortal Orchestra show after the ticketing Gods coincidentally sat them next to each other. That chance meeting blossomed into a musical kinship which, after months of jamming in a friend’s Sydney basement, led to the formation of Micra. Their latest EP 5th Room features singles ‘Love Child’, ‘Headroom’ and ‘Doesn’t Mean A Thing’ and follows up their debut EP Sunday.

CRY CLUB (MELBOURNE)
Australian queer noise-pop duo, Cry Club are as gentle in spirit as they are ferocious on stage, with a flair for creating relatable, empowering and danceable anthems. Heather Riley (they/them – vocals) and Jono Tooke (he/him – guitar) cut their teeth in the Wollongong music scene before moving to Melbourne. Their first single ‘Walk Away’ garnered much support from the local press, while it was their second single, ‘DFTM’, which helped them take out ‘most played artist’ on triple j Unearthed in 2019. They have since hit the road supporting Alex Lahey, Alice Ivy, WAAX and Bec Sandridge and Tooke, and released their debut LP God I’m Such a Mess.

JAY JAROME (HOBART)
From busking in the street to performing on festival stages, Jay Jarome’s soulful vocals, smooth musicianship and thoughtful songwriting has left audiences captivated all around the country. Growing up on an island in south east QLD, the singer-songwriter made the move down to Nipaluna/Hobart on a scholarship to study music at the Conservatorium. Jay has channeled his unique blend of Soul, Folk, Funk and Blues all around the country – from busking in the street to performing on stages at Falls Festival, Perth Festival, A Festival Called Panama, DARK MOFO, Party in the Paddock and many more. Check out ‘Thru 2 You’, ‘Second Chances’ and ‘WATWIFFY’.

TOWNS (ADELAIDE)
2018 saw the release of TOWNS debut EP Television, which swept listeners off their feet from the first spin with its unique blend of 90s pop rock and Australiana. Proving they love all things 90s the duo – Aston Valladares and Daniel Steinert – even created a YouTube series TOWNS TV, drawing inspiration from the ever popular Cheez TV that captivated young Australians of the era. The pair recently announced their signing to Farmer & Owl and has been named ‘Best Rock Group’ three years running for the South Australian Music Awards.

PROJECT BEXX (PERTH)
BEXX is a powerhouse electronic producer, vocalist, DJ, performance artist and is the frontwoman for the award-winning live band PROJECT BEXX. She has quickly grown to be a household name in Perth, supporting the likes of Peking Duk, What So Not, The Presets, Tame Impala, Shockone, Slumberjack, The Veronicas, Vera Blue and more! Less than a year after forming, the 5-piece live band won the WAM award for BEST LIVE ELECTRONIC ACT 2021, and more recently took out the award for WA Song of the Year 2022 in the Electronic Category.
