Mia Wray – Rerun: 13th Floor New Song of the Day
Mia Wray brightens up our Thursday with Rerun.
Need to know more? Here’s the blurb with details:
Melbourne artist Mia Wray has today released new music via cathartic-pop anthem ‘Rerun’. Showcasing the rising star’s stadium-sized vocals and formidable song-writing grit, ‘Rerun’ is an ode to liberation and growth through emancipation.
These sentiments are brought to life by director Triana Hernandez (Amyl and the Sniffers/Gordi/RVG) in the stunning accompanying video – a visual celebration of adventure and new beginnings.
To coincide with ‘Rerun’s’ release, Mia Wray has announced a performance at this year’s The Great Escape (UK) in May, as well as a run of intimate warm-up shows each Thursday in April (from the 14th), as part of her residency at The Gem in Collingwood. Mia will round out the year supporting Vance Joy on his mammoth Australian national tour.
Written by Mia and produced by Rob Amoruso (The Rubens/G-Flip) and Pip Norman (Troy Sivan) and mixed by Grammy Award winner Eric J (Flume), ‘Rerun’ solidifies Mia’s position as a bold and striking new voice who writes with a confidence that mirrors her driving and immediate onstage presence, a credit illustrated by her 2021 sold-out headline East Coast tour, a sold-out four-date residency at the Northcote Social Club and a packed Corner Hotel last month. The past 12 months have also seen Mia support the likes of The Rubens, The Teskey Brothers and TV performances on The Sound, AFLW Awards, Sounds Better Together & more.
‘Rerun’ marks the start off an exciting new musical chapter for Mia, following the release of her 2021 hits: bedroom-pop ‘Needs’, and the anthemic ‘Never Gonna Be The Same’ and one of the most exciting 2020 single debuts in ‘Work For Me’. All three songs were championed by the likes of triple j (all added to full rotation first week), triple j rotation (Feature Artist), support across HIT National Nights, overwhelming Spotify editorial support (including the cover of NMF for ‘Needs’), Apple Music playlisting (plus a spin and plug by Elton John on his Beats 1 radio show) praise from Rolling Stone, NME & many more.
Stay tuned for more exciting Mia Wray news to come.
