R.I.P. B.J. Thomas
B.J. Thomas, the voice behind Raindrops Keep Fallin’ On My Head, has died, age 78.
While Raindrops is probably BJ’s most well-known hit, there were many others in the 60s and 70s including Hooked On A Feeling, Eyes Of A New York Woman and (Hey Won’t You Play) Another Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song.

Publisher’s note: B.J. Thomas was my idol when I was a little teeny bopper. Hooked on a Feeling was my favourite song for years.
My family went on holiday to Atlantic City when I was 12 and he was performing on the Steel Pier there. (A famous amusement park on the Jersey Shore.)
I blew all my money and went to see him SIX times! My very first concert(s). Got his autograph. And at the last show I went to, I threw my favourite ring on stage to him. He picked it up and popped it onto his pinky finger!!!
My introduction to the world of rock & roll! I never imagined where it would lead. Shame I never got a chance to photograph him, though.
