R.I.P. Grant Hart of Husker Du
Husker Du drummer, vocalist and songwriter Grant Hart has died at age 56 due to liver cancer. The St Paul, Minnesota-based trio was part of a music scene in the 1980s that also spawned The Replacements and Soul Asylum.
Husker Du’s sound came on like a breath of fresh air in an era when musical mediocrity reined. The band split in 1988 with Bob Mould, Grant Hart and Greg Norton all going on to release solo material or form other bands.

He was a big part of the magic.
Nice touch of RNZ to play ” .. Lonely” a few times on Saturday, perfect for a wet and wild Coromandel day.
RIP G Hart.
