R.I.P. Gregg Allman
Gregg Allman has died at the age of 69. Gregg, along with his older brother Duane Allman, founded The Allman Brothers Band in 1969. The band went on to become the leading Southern Rock band of the 1970s despite the death of Duane, and later bass player Berry Oakley.
Even as they were reeling from those tragedies, Gregg and guitarist Dickey Betts led the band to their biggest commercial success, their 1973 album, Brothers And Sisters, featuring hit single, Ramblin’ Man.
It was also that year that Gregg Allman released his first solo album, Laid Back and its hit, Midnight Rider.
