R.I.P. Pat DiNizio (Smithereens)
Pat DiNizio, front man for The Smithereens, has died at age 62.
The Smithereens emerged out of the New Jersey rock scene in the early eighties and produced a string of radio-friendly power-pop records such as A Girl Like You, Only A Memory and Blood And Roses.
Their sound was influenced by classic 60s acts such as The Beatles, The Byrds and The Kinks, with DiNizio sporting a Rickenbacker guitar.
