Rhian Sheehan & Arli Liberman have today release Immaru, the first joint release from the New Zealand musicians, composers and producers and the first track from the upcoming full length album TRACES

Here is the blurb with more:

The track is the first release from the collaborative album of new original material that was written and recorded over an eight-day period in Wellington and Auckland.

Immaru

Combining the unique atmospheric guitar playing and production skills of Arli Liberman with Rhian Sheehan’s haunting use of modular soundscapes and studio instruments, this new project sees the two artists building a cinematic thread throughout each instrumental track. Immaru is the first journey into this world, beautifully crafted by two of New Zealand’s finest composers and producers.

Immaru begins with an ambient atmosphere, gradually building to a dynamic crescendo that introduces post-rock guitar, bowed textures, ethereal vocal and Moog synthesiser elements. The track then builds into an all-encompassing, evocative, and haunting soundscape, with futuristic and earthy sounds serving as the perfect introduction to this collaborative project.

Set for release in 2025, TRACES offers a creative outlet for Rhian Sheehan and Arli Liberman, blending electronic, ambient, post-rock, and futuristic soundscapes. It transports listeners into an imagined sci-fi world that could also belong to the distant past, creating an immersive auditory experience that feels like stepping into an unmade film, all while staying true to their distinct styles and crafting a vivid, cinematic journey.

The single and album arrives alongside a fully-formed suite of artwork and video content, originally created by multimedia artist Sam Caldwell, who’s unique work fits perfectly into the distinctive worlds being created by Rhian Sheehan Arli Liberman.
