Sophie-Maude Gets Comfortable: New Song Of The Day
Sophie-Maude has just released Comfortable and we present it to you as our New Song Of The Day.
A new Kiwi artist, Sophie-Maude looks to be an “up and coming artist” to keep an eye on. Here’s the blurb with more:
Up-and-coming Bay of Plenty artist Sophie-Maude makes a powerful statement with her new single ‘Comfortable’.
A bold and fresh slice of R&B-meets-pop, with lush layers that blend strong melodies and harmonies, ‘Comfortable’ takes the listener on a journey, to a place where they can escape from the world and be lost in the music.
“The song deconstructs the idea of whether someone feels as comfortable as you feel around them. It describes the anxieties around overthinking and wondering if the other person feels the same,” explains Sophie-Maude.
“The song started by me messing around on the piano. That night I came up with the first few lines: ‘Thought I was alone staring at the stars…’, which initially referred to when I first got my support dog Harley (for anxiety). When walking out with him to my cabin at night, I would always stare at the stars and find myself getting lost in the moment,’ she adds.
Born and raised in Tauranga, Sophie-Maude makes music that is driven by a desire to motivate, inspire and tell her story her way. By drawing from her own life experiences and coping with Autism, ADHD, OCS and Tourette’s syndrome, she articulates stories and shared perspectives that connect with audiences across the spectrum.
Sophie-Maude first emerged on the R&B-pop scene with the singles ‘Insane’ and ‘Only One’, and recently featured on renowned Kiwi act Deadbeat’s new single ‘Diamonds’ alongside hip-hop producer and DJ, Joey illah.
Now, the talented young artist is poised to reveal a string of new singles, including today’s release ‘Comfortable’, which firmly places her at the heart of a new wave of up-and-coming ‘ones to watch’ on the New Zealand music scene.
‘Comfortable’ will be accompanied by a video set for release in the coming weeks. Watch this space!
