Tali – Young Daylight (ft. Jordyn with a Why): 13th Floor New Song Of The Day
Electronic music pioneer Tali has teamed up with rising R&B star Jordyn with a Why on
her latest single, the euphoric and soaring Young Daylight.
Here is the blurb with more:
Young Daylight will feature on Tali’s highly-anticipated album EMPRESS ERA, which will be released on select streaming platforms in March, as well as on vinyl pressed by Holiday Records. The vinyl creation is being driven by a fundraising campaign that launches today, with orders available HERE

The uplifting new single Young Daylight explores the joy and warmth of another’s love – whether that be with a lover, a friend, or a family member. “It’s about wanting to be that feel-good energy and warmth for that person – like the morning sun. The ‘young daylight’ and the warmth and pure vibes they give you in return,” says Tali.
“It’s a song full of love and positivity. It reflects how I’m feeling right now – settling into my skin as a producer, as an artist, as a woman.”
It’s fitting then, that the multi-award winning Tali, who has paved the way locally and internationally for so many upcoming acts, should pair up with one of Aotearoa’s most celebrated new talents, Jordyn with a Why.
Tali explains that she first met Jordyn at the APRA Silver Scrolls several years ago, and they both discovered they were fans of each other. “Our mutual friend said, ‘You guys should make a tune together!’ ‘I’d love to!’ said Jordyn. ‘You realise I make DnB though, right?’ I replied. ‘Hell yeah, I’ll sing on a DnB tune!’ Jordyn said.
“So a plan was hatched. It really was just waiting for the right tune to be produced and when I made this track, I knew I wanted Jordyn to sing on it with me. I sent it to her and she loved it, and came to my studio to record.”
‘Young Daylight’, which Tali produced, with mixing from the legendary Tiki Taane, also features live flute from Geo Seato. This is the second single from the upcoming EMPRESS ERA. It follows on from the recently released ‘Life On The Line’ featuring Romanian-born, Toronto-based Polaris. Both songs are epic DnB – the perfect soundtracks to summer.
Fans will get the chance to hear the new songs at one of the many sets Tali will play this summer, including AUM, Northern Bass, SPLORE, Shipwrecked and Synthony. They can also catch her up-close-and-personal at the official release party for ‘Young Daylight’ at PSC in Tāmaki Makaurau on Saturday December 20, when she’ll be joined by Huia Hamon and pop-electro artist Soulti.
