Thuryah – Bed: 13th Floor New Song Of The Day

New Indie-Pop artist Thuryah has released her debut single, bed, and an ethereal music video shot in Auckland CBD. This track is the first to be released from Thuryah’s upcoming debut EP, poetry i don’t write.

 Here’s the blurb with more:

Thuryahbed‘ is a mesmerizing track that delves into the reminiscence of a rose-tinted romance. With a melancholic piano chord progression, hauntingly dreamy vocal layerings, and introspective lyrics, Thuryah transports listeners through the complexities of idealized love.

“I was going through such a painful and confusing time in my life back then…I would replay memories so often that bittersweet nostalgia became the essence of the song’s meaning.” Says Thuryah. “Writing ‘bed’ became my way of trying to heal and create something beautiful from a difficult chapter.”

The music video directed by Flora Xie accompanied the release of ‘bed‘. Through the lens of rose-tinted imagery, the video unfolds a story that holds the allure of romance and a haunting sense of its transience. It beautifully captures the essence of idealizing a romance.

“I spent so long romanticizing someone else in my head…I felt like I owed it to myself to portray myself in that same light,” says Thuryah. “It was a beautiful contrast having the bittersweet lyrics paired with the rose-tinted visual. Those two elements perfectly encapsulate the narrative as a whole for me.”
