TOI – Essence: 13th Floor New Song Of The Day

TOI have just release this live video of their new single titled Essence. And there’s an album on the way!

Filmed entirely in their home studio, Te Māra, Wellington band TOI have released their first live video directed by Lee Gingold for soul/R’nB roots infused ‘Essence’. This is the first single from their upcoming full-length album and the song tells a story of love that’s lost its way, with an uplifting message of hope that shines through.

“A lot of these new songs’ content and topics felt more sensitive, vulnerable and emotional than any of our previous writing we had created together,” says TOI guitarist Jules Blewman.

“… and Te Māra has a great homely vibe and warm aesthetic to the room so it just made sense to do as much as we possibly could from here.” This led to the decision to record the live video in the space where most of the material for the upcoming TOI album was written.
