New Music
Friday December 6th is new music day.
Neil Young releases his album Live at the Cellar Door, House of Shem brings out Harmony, Simply Red release Songbook 1985-2010, Yes add The Studio Albums 1969-1987. Scandanavian band Roxette have been Travelling the World and have aptly named their title just that and The Verlaines bring out Juvenilia.
New Zealand ban House of Shem will also release their album Harmony on Friday (6th).
New Music Events
The Australian soft rock duo Air Supply are have traveled from across the Tasman to perform three shows in New Zealand. They are performing three shows; December 3rd at the CBS Arena in Christchurch, December 4th at the St James Theatre in Wellington and in Auckland on December 5th at the Civic Theatre.
Tuesday December 3rd sees Jack Johnson coming to the ASB theatre in Auckland.
Melvins & Solid Gold Hell are performing one show on Wednesday December 4th at the Powerstation in Auckland.
Rising star Robert DeLong will be performing live for one lucky New Zealand audience at the Galatos in Auckland on Wednesday December 4th.
New Movies
The Royal Shakespeare Company’s film Richard II comes out in cinemas on Thursday December 5th.
Also out on Thursday (5th) are Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2, Ender’s Game starring Harrison Ford, James Wan’s horror flick Insidious: Chapter 2, Night Train to Lisbon and The Christmas Candle.
New DVDs
There is a long list of DVD’s coming out this week. On Wednesday December 4th the films Blinder, Giselle, Tasting Menu, The Croods, The Last Sentence and The World’s End come out along with the 50th Anniversary episode of Dr Who: The Day of the Doctor.
On December 5th A Werewolf Boy, Badges of Fury, Charles Bradley: Soul of America, John Dies at the End come from film to screen.
Love, Marilyn is a DVD documentary about the famous actress and also comes out on December 5th.
