Viva Lone Justice! Marvin Etzioni Reassembles The Classic Cowpunk Band: 13th Floor MusicTalk Interview
Lone Justice sprang out of the fertile LA “cowpunk” scene of the 1980s that also spawned bands like Rank & File, Social Distortion and The Blasters and distinguished themselves with the powerful pipes of vocalist Maria McKee. The band split after releasing just two albums…now there is a third.
The 13th Floor’s Marty Duda spoke to bassist, songwriter and producer Marvin Etzioni about how this unlikely reunion album, titled Viva Lone Justice, came together, given that drummer Don Heffington died a few years ago. It turns out that Mark is a an enthusiastic storyteller, so sit back as he tells us how Lone Justice helped create alt.country while leaving just a little blood on the saddle.
Viva Lone Justice is released Friday, October 25th on Fire Records. Click here to pre-order.
