Acclaimed actor Michael Shannon talks to The 13th Floor about his role in the new film, The Quarry.

Ever since his first movie role in Groundhog Day, Michael Shannon has been impressing moviegoers with his presence including memorable (twice nominated for an Oscar) turns in films such as 8 Mile, Revolutionary Road and The Shape Of Water... along with his work in the TV series Boardwalk Empire.

The 13th Floor’s Marty Duda spoke to Mr. Shannon about his intense character in the film The Quarry, which will be playing in cinemas as soon as lockdown is lifted. Shannon is in Australia where he is shooting a new episodic series, Nine Perfect Strangers. 

But first, we start with a few words about American politics. Shannon cause a bit of a stir four years ago when he said, “if you’re voting for Trump, it’s time for the urn.” With the Democratic National Convention going on, it seems his opinion hasn’t softened.
