Who Shot Scott – Problem In My Head: 13th Floor New Song Of The Day
Launching into 2026 with a brand new single and video, Auckland-based artist and producer WHO SHOT SCOTT shares the melancholic ‘PROBLEMS IN MY HEAD’.
Here is the blurb with more:
Serving as his first release of the new year, the track arrives as an eerily haunting introduction – a world of wonky synths, smacking drums, and a raw vocal performance that traces the artist’s earliest experiences with anxiety and therapy.

About the track, WHO SHOT SCOTT shares “When I was 16 years old I had my first ever full-blown panic attack. It happened while I was hanging up sheets in the backyard of our house. I had no idea what was happening to me, but it felt like the whole world was caving in. That was the first time I realised I had an anxiety problem. I would tell people about it and I felt like no one understood what I was going through. I felt very isolated.
“I eventually went to a few therapists and realised that what I had was anxiety, and that started my journey of not removing it from my life, but accepting it as a staple in my being. Something I will have to live with and deal with for the rest of my life. Finding tools to come to terms with it rather than push it away, which would only make it worse.”
Viewing his anxiety as a strength, rather than a weakness, has ultimately served to strengthen the artistic vision of WHO SHOT SCOTT; “In a lot of ways, the same part of me that is anxious is the same part of me that is able to create art. They’re two sides of the same coin. So in a way, even though it haunts and hurts me to this day, I’m super grateful for my anxiousness”
Accompanied by a surreal music video directed by longtime collaborator Connor Pritchard, the visual places WHO SHOT SCOTT in an uncanny therapy session –- a cold, sterile room where he pleads his case and sings his heart out to a silent therapist. While everything appears still on the surface, the video dives into the internal chaos he can’t articulate, revealing a mind that won’t sit still even when his body does.
‘PROBLEMS IN MY HEAD’ marks the beginning of an exciting year for WHO SHOT SCOTT — a new chapter of honesty, vulnerability and sonic evolution as he continues building towards his most ambitious work yet. With more releases on the horizon and a growing global audience rallying behind him, 2026 is set to be his most defining year to date.

About WHO SHOT SCOTT: WHO SHOT SCOTT is the genre-blurring project of Iraqi-born, Auckland-raised artist and producer Zaidoon Nasir. Across five critically acclaimed EPs, his emotionally raw songwriting and explosive production have carved out a fearless, genre-defying sound that fuses alternative hip hop, punk energy, and electronic experimentation.
Rolling Stone Australia named him one of the Top 8 New Zealand artists tipped to take over, celebrating his “filthy and frantic” sonic identity. Rooted in both Arabic heritage and Kiwi upbringing, WSS’s music speaks to displacement, identity, and emotional survival, expressed through a voice that is as vulnerable as it is confrontational.
His breakout single ‘LONERS ANTHEM‘ topped the NZ College Radio charts for four weeks and was voted the most beloved track of 2022. With international radio play across NZ, Australia, the US, UK, and Europe, and EPs MERCY III and BRAIN (SIDE A) charting on the North American College Radio charts – WHO SHOT SCOTT has built a loyal global audience. Following tours across Australasia and Japan, and performances at SXSW Sydney, BIGSOUND, Music Matters Singapore, and WOMAD 2025, he continues to cement himself as one of Down Under’s most dynamic and boundary-pushing songwriting voices.
