13th Floor New Song Of The Day: David Kilgour & The Heavy Eights – Coming In From Nowhere Now

The new album from David Kilgour & The Heavy Eights is just a few weeks away.

Today, they release a new song from the album, the delicate instrumental, Coming In From Nowhere Now. The album, titled Bobbie’s A Girl, will be released on September 20th. Here’s the record blurb with more info:

The atmosphere of David Kilgour’s latest, Bobbie’s a girl (out September 20), feels a bit mysterious. Largely missing the jangly distortion of Kilgour’s other work as a solo artist and with The Clean, the album’s ten songs exude a hazy warmth, with a light psychedelia that recalls ’60s outfits like The Byrds and The Velvet Underground. Only four songs have lyrics. “I kind of wanted a rest from verbalizing everything, like listening to yourself going, ‘Blah blah blah blah…,” Kilgour says.

Today, Kilgour is sharing one of those instrumental tracks ahead of the release of Bobbie’s a girl, the gentle and tender “Coming in from nowhere now.”

Four decades into his career, Kilgour remains as creatively restless as ever. Wherever that drive takes him next, you’ll want to follow.
