13th Floor New Song Of The Day: Greg Fleming & The Working Poor – Don’t Like Me

Today we have new music from West Auckland…it’s Greg Fleming & The Working Poor with Don’t Like Me.

This new song is taken from Greg’s upcoming album, Get Off At Lincoln. Here’s the record company blurb with more details:

Greg Fleming’s new single from the upcoming album Get Off at Lincoln is a song about not liking the person you are – despite appearing outwardly to be living a dream life.

“We all live in a social media obsessed world and that dis-junction between reality and appearance is more apparent than ever,” says Fleming of the song – the first verse of which sees the character flicking through his Instagram posts.

Fleming cites songwriters like Jason Isbell, Bruce Springsteen, Craig Finn and James McMurtry as influences.

“These days I try to write as simply and directly as possible. If the song’s still going round my head a week after I write it – like this one was – it’s likely to be a keeper.”
