13th Floor New Song Of The Day: Night Shop – In The Twilight Sun

Night Shop (aka Justin Sullivan) brings us In The Twilight Sun with help from Waxahatchee (aka Katie Crutchfield).

Apparently no one is using their given names these days, but that’s OK as this debut from Night Shop is quite lovely. Justin Sullivan has played with the likes of Flat Worms and Kevin Morby. Meanwhile Waxahatchee seems to be everywhere…the new Kevin Morby track premiered earlier and also a cameo on the new Whitney album.

Here’s what Justin has to say about In The Twilight Sun:

‘In The Twilight Sun is a song about aging and platonic love, figuring out what to let go of and what you want to bring with you as you move through life. Katie has been a dear friend of mine for a long time, through many different music scenes and eras, and she continues to inspire me with the way she navigates that process of loss and growth. So, I’m really grateful that she wanted to be involved with this song, along with my other deeply talented friends, to make it what it is.”

“In The Twilight Sun” also features Meg Duffy of Hand Habits on guitar and Jarvis Taveniere of Woods on bass. Look for new EP, The Fountain, due September 25th.
