Here’s the record company blurb with more info:

July 9, 2019: Celestial sisters Purple Pilgrims have today, shared a new track ‘Love In Lunacy (Saturn Return)’ off their upcoming album Perfumed Earth, out August 9th on Flying Nun Records. ‘Love In Lunacy (Saturn Return)’ is Valentine and Clementine Nixon’s procession into cosmic melancholy, as free falling vocal layers, swooning synthesizers and wandering bass guitar lines meld into this lush, otherworldly track. Beguiling, ghostly harmonies overlap while steady percussion lulls listeners into a ruminating hypnosis.

The video sees the pilgrims meditations reaching levitational states, adrift on the monochrome grain of volcanic sand and black and white Super 8 film, windblown and fluid amid a haunting backdrop of undisclosed magic landscapes. Directed and edited by Gary War, the accompanying visuals are described by the sisters as “a quiet reflection on paradigm shifts, and gravitational forces both planetary and introspect.”

The making of Perfumed Earth saw Purple Pilgrims return to the birthplace of their debut record Eternal Delight, where the isolationist sisters assembled a community of collaborators (both in person and remotely) to weave together the 9 track record from the forest sanctuary of Tapu, on New Zealand’s Coromandel Peninsula. Out of this pastoral solitude was born an album a world unto itself. Mixed by Thomas Healy, with bass/synths from Gary War, experimental saxophone from Jeff Henderson, live drums from Jimmy Mac, guitar fuzz from Joshua Kennedy, as well as an appearance from six-string expressionist Roy Montgomery, Perfumed Earth is an inspired fusing of creative touchstones to achieve a singular, stunning vision.
