Blindspott Is Back After Resting In Pieces: Interview

Blindspott the hard-rockin’ metal band from Waitakere, are back with a new song, an album in the works and a tour on the books.

The 13th Floor’s Marty Duda spoke to Blindspott vocalist Damian Alexander just as the band is about to release R.I.P. (Rest In Pieces) their first new music in 15 years.

BlindspottDespite both of of the band’s albums hitting number one on the New Zealand Album charts, they turned out to be their own worst enemy disintegrating in 2007 amid much bad blood and even lawsuits.

Now, the three main creative forces, guitarist Marcus Powell, drummer Shelton Woolright and vocalist Damian Alexander are anxious to get back to making music together, but COVID had other ideas.

So, here we are in 2021 with a new song released today and a new album, unconventionally recorded and show booked, including a slot on the Rock Big 30 bill set to take place on Friday, November 26 at Auckland’s Spark Arena.

Here now is Damian Alexander to tell us how these guy got through the “knarly shit” and are now able to make music once more.
