Festival chief executive David Inns said further shows were cancelled following developments of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation and concerns about flight cancellations and border restrictions for international artists. This just in from the folks at the 2020 Comedy Festival: With deepest regret, we advise the cancellation of the 2020 NZ International Comedy Festival owing to the critical developments of the COVID-19 situation, and the Government’s guidelines around events and mass gatherings over the coming months.
Auckland Arts Festival has today cancelled four Festival shows as a direct result of the Government’s new border control measures requiring all arrivals into New Zealand to self-isolate for 14 days. The four affected shows are Circolombia – Acéléré, Wolfgang’s Magical Musical Circus, Watt by Samuel Beckett and Soweto Gospel Choir.
Live Nation has announced the remaining shows on Patty Griffin’s Tour have been cancelled out of an abundance of caution. All tickets will be fully refunded. Details here.

Deftones & My Chemical Romance managements respectively announced this morning that due to the coronavirus, their shows will be postponed. Deftones show was scheduled for Sunday the 15th at The Trusts Arena. My Chemical Romance were set to play at Western Springs on 25 March. We’ll have more details as they become available.
Rising Dunedin genre-defying MC (and ex-carpet salesman) WAX MUSTANG today announces three New Zealand tour dates on the Mustang For President tour. Mustang begins the tour at Auckland’s Galatos on April 24th, before heading to Wellington’s Meow on April 25th, and ending in Christchurch’s Blue Smoke on May 16th.
